Come along to Irvine Jobs Fair at the Volunteer Rooms

Posted on 28 Feb 2020

Irvine residents are being invited to meet a range of employers and employment agencies as the latest Employability Partnership Jobs Fair visits Irvine next week.

The one-stop-shop for employment will be at Volunteer Rooms, Irvine on Wednesday, 4 March, from 12.30-3pm.

On the day, residents can go along and chat to a range of experts who can offer them the support they need to get into employment.

Whether they’re looking to get back into work after having children, looking to take their very first step onto the career ladder, looking to find more relevant job opportunities or wanting to develop their skills and qualifications to become ‘job ready’, the event will bring together the right services to help local residents do exactly that.

Key contacts from a number of North Ayrshire Council services will also be in attendance including NAC Care at Home, Early Years, Catering, Cleaning, Skills for Life and Modern Apprenticeships.

A number of local businesses including representatives from NHS Ayrshire & Arran, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Hansel, Ayrshire Quality Care, Community Jobs Scotland, Cornerstone, Orridge, Carewatch, among many others – will also be there on the day to interview potential candidates for current job vacancies.

The Council is joining forces with the Department for Work and Pensions, the Ayrshire Community Trust, Ayrshire Chamber, Skills Development Scotland and the Ayrshire College to host what will be the second North Ayrshire Employability Partnership Jobs Fair this year.

Councillor Alex Gallagher, Cabinet Member for Economy, said: “One of our our most important Council priorities is to increase employment for people in the local area.

“We are working hard to tackle the challenges of this, but are doing a great deal of work so far to overcome the issues and provide tailored support to those seeking work in North Ayrshire.

“This Employability Partnership Jobs Fair is just one in a number of ways we are providing assistance. By teaming up with partner agencies to deliver this event, we can provide our residents with a full employability service, under one roof.

“We would strongly encourage anyone looking for employability advice and support to come along with their CV and have a chat to us and our partners – no matter their circumstances, we will do what we can to help out.”
