The Harbour Arts Centre in Irvine has retained its 4-Star VisitScotland Award after a recent visit from inspectors.
The VisitScotland Quality Assurance Grading Scheme takes into account the entire visitor experience, from the quality of programme delivered down to the friendliness of staff, cleanliness of the facility, toilets, catering and more.
The 4-Star award is described as reflecting an ‘excellent’ customer experience.
Recognised as the cultural hub for North Ayrshire, the Harbour Arts Centre presents quality exhibitions, art and drama classes, theatre, comedy, an eclectic mix of live music, special events and much more.
The building is also home to the popular Duncan’s Bar & Bistro.
Marie Blackwood, North Ayrshire Council Arts and Culture Officer, said: “We are really chuffed to have maintained our VisitScotland 4-Star status.
“It means a great deal to all the staff and volunteers that are here at the centre and acknowledges all the hard work and effort that everyone puts in to create such a vibrant and well loved arts centre for both our local community and visitors to enjoy.”
Councillor Louise McPhater, Cabinet Member for Communities, said: “The Harbour Arts Centre is a fantastic facility, making the arts easily accessible to our communities and delivering a quality programme of events and workshops throughout the year.
“The 4-Star rating is a mark of quality based on the complete experience on offer to visitors, with the HAC having consistently retained the rating year on year since it was originally secured several years ago.
“We would like to congratulate all of the staff at the centre for their hard work and dedication, which has paid off yet again.”
