A reminder of our Home Waste Recycling Services update

Posted on 27 May 2020

Our Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC) will re-open on a phased basis throughout June.

There will be significant changes to how our recycling centres operate to ensure we can manage demand, resources and physical distancing measures and keep customers and staff safe.

You should NOT visit if you, or anyone in your household, has symptoms of Covid-19, or is ‘shielding’ because of an underlying health condition.

Please only visit your local HWRC if you cannot safely store your waste at home. Long queues are likely, and we expect that demand may reach capacity at times, which may mean we ask you to return at another time.

You must bring proof of residency within North Ayrshire and have this displayed clearly on your car dashboard. Entry to the site will only be permitted if you bring ONE of the following:

✅ A driving Licence
✅ A Council Tax bill
✅ A utility bill

NO VANS OR TRAILERS will be permitted until demand eases and there will be temporary restrictions on the items that can be disposed of.

Please ensure you a familiar with the restrictions in place before visiting. For a full list of restrictions and for more information on what can and can’t be disposed of please visit www.north-ayrshire.gov.uk/HWRC
