Nurturing Excellence Programme

Supporting talented young people to realise their full potential.

Excellence in Arts and Culture

Who can apply?

Applicants should be,

  • resident in the North Ayrshire Council area
  • between 11 and 25 years of age on the date the application is received by us
  • performing at a standard which is recognised as significant

Applicants joining programme will be able to demonstrate high levels of artistic performance and achievement, or demonstrate potential and commitment to achieve success in one or more of the following:

  • Creative writing
  • Visual arts
  • Music
  • Dance
  • Drama
  • Film
  • Photography
  • New media/art forms

What can be funded?

  • attendance at professional development
  • working with professional artists, practitioners in a residency, mentoring or master classes
  • purchase of specialised items of equipment

Excellence for Sport

Who can apply?

The programme is open to all non-professional athletes who are:

  • resident in North Ayrshire or studying at a Further or Higher Education institution and have a permanent address in North Ayrshire
  • aged 11 to 20 at the time of application
  • participate in a sport with a recognised National Governing Body (NGB) by sportscotland or equivalent.

Athletes joining the programme will be able to demonstrate high levels of sporting performance and achievement, or demonstrate potential and commitment to achieve success in their chosen sporting discipline.
