Each locality within North Ayrshire has its own set of lights. These were purchased by specific community organisations.
In support of these organisations, we provide several services to assist them:
- Building Services look after hanging the lights and taking them down annually, as well as testing the lights for faults, damage, etc
- Streetscene store the lights off-season
Each year, staff across Streetscene, Roads Permitting, Building Services and Connected Communities work together with each of the community organisations to determine when official switch-on events will be held.
We begin discussing plans for the following Christmas season when the lights come down at the end of January/February.
