Children's Services Plan 2016-20: Getting it right for you

North Ayrshire Children's Services Strategic Partnership aims to give children and young people the best start in life and to make North Ayrshire the best place in Scotland to grow up. The Children's Services Plan 2016-20: Getting it right for you, explains how they will do this:

The Plan is for all children and young people from 0 to 18 years in North Ayrshire. It aims to join up our services and make sure that children and young people are at the centre of what we do over the next 4 years.

We asked almost 8,000 children and young people and more than 600 families with young children to tell us about their lives. We used this information to decide that our priorities should be to:

  • improve how children and young people engage with school
  • help children and young people to be physically active and be at a healthy weight
  • prevent smoking, drinking and taking substances at an early age
  • support children and young people's social and emotional development

The plan explains how we will work on these priorities. The action plan attached to it explains how we will keep the promises we make. We will write a report every year about how we are doing and will measure this using indicators in our Children's Services Performance Framework (PDF, 586kb).
