Achievements, recognition and awards 

North Ayrshire Council strives to demonstrate its commitment to continuous improvement.

Our services and staff receive external recognition and awards (PDF, 159kb) for major achievements and for demonstrating leading and best practice.

Here are some highlights:

APSE Service Awards 2017

North Ayrshire Council were named ‘Council of the Year’ at the annual Association of Public Sector Excellence (APSE) awards 2017. 

Our ‘Change’ team also won the Best Efficiency and Transformation Initiative.

APSE Service Awards 2018

In 2018 our ‘Team North Ayrshire’ won the Best Public/Private Partnership Initiative.

EFQM Excellence Award

North Ayrshire Council is the proud owner of an EFQM Excellence Award. The council was awarded 3 star Level of Excellence at the Scottish Awards for Business Excellence 2015.

Housing Services were awarded the EFQM Scottish Award for Business Excellence in 2013.

COSLA Awards

In 2018 we received two COSLA Bronze Awards for our Inclusive Growth Diagnostic Pilot and our Locality Partnerships.

COSLA Excellence awards were received in 2017 as follows:

Gold Awards

  • Tackling Inequalities and Improving Health: Café Solace

Bronze Awards

  • Delivering Better Services: Corporate Continuous Improvement Programme

Scottish Building Standards Awards 2016 and 2017

Award for National Building Standards Performance Excellence.

Investors in People Platinum Award

We are the first council in Scotland to secure this award for Housing Services.

Customer Service Excellence

Housing Services (Concierge Team), Revenues & Benefits and Customer Services received the Customer Service Excellence Awards.

Gold Standard for Tenant Scrutiny Accreditation

We are the first Council in Scotland to achieve this standard.

Food for Life Gold Accreditation: Catering Services

Catering Services won the Gold Food for Life Catering Mark for school menus in all 53 primary schools and Arran High School.

Gold Healthy Working Lives Award

For promoting and developing healthy living and safety in the workplace, we are proud to have won a Gold Healthy Working Lives Award.
