Community Wealth Building

We are the first Community Wealth Building Council in Scotland.

Community Wealth Building means more local employment and a larger and more diverse business base, ensuring that wealth is locally owned and benefits local people. It is about how we work as an organisation and with partners; from the goods that we buy, the people that we employ, the assets we own and the powers that we have that can bring about change to maximise local economic opportunities.

Take a look at our strategy (PDF, 9.4mb) for Community Wealth Building in North Ayrshire.

Our Community Wealth Building Mission:

To support the achievement of the Council Plan’s vision of a North Ayrshire that is ‘Fair for All’ by enhancing local wealth and the creation of fair jobs, and maximising the potential of all our places through working in partnership with our communities and businesses.
