Integral to the wider Ardrossan North Shore regeneration is economic regeneration through private investment. To help achieve this, the area lying adjacent to the new marina extension is zoned for commercial development with the aim of attracting commercial investment including the opportunity for uses such as a hotel, restaurant and retail. This will also provide the location for the planned IMSE (International Marine, Science and Environmental Centre), and shared marina facilities including parking and marina related services.
With the creation of the new marina and coastal footpath, this enhanced setting will provide an attractive location for development bringing leisure, employment and educational investment and opportunities.
What's happening and what's in the pipeline
The North Shore enabling works will include the remediation of the North Shore site, the reclamation of land to create additional commercial land adjacent to existing marina basin and the development of a coastal path.
Plans for the commercial area are currently in development with the appointed architects JMA. These will inform the future marketing of commercial opportunities.
