Lochsunset360x223

One of the best coarse fishing venues in Ayrshire, Eglinton Country Park loch provides a beautiful setting for anglers. The 6.5 hectares loch has 19 fishing pegs and is known to contain good bream, roach, rudd, perch and pike. Catches of carp and tench have been reported on occasion.

The loch is popular for bird watchers. You may see; mute and whooper swans, heron, tufted duck, great crested grebe and kingfisher. Warbling away in the surrounding scrub you may see a variety of finches and even reed warblers – a notable species on red data list.

Please note that there are areas restricted to access.

We hold conservation days where the anglers get a change to become involved in the maintenance of the loch alongside the Rangers.

Annual or Half Annual Permits are required for fishing in the Eglinton Loch and are available at the Visitor Centre.

Permit charges

Adult Annual/Half Annual Permit- £27.80 / £14.50
