Pre-employment apprenticeship training
As part of our MA recruitment process, successful candidates must undertake a 2 week pre-employment course with 1 of our Employability Partners.
The course covers:
- information on employers' and training providers' expectations
- confidence building
- interview techniques
- North Ayrshire Council's policies and procedures
Participants will receive a training allowance of £55 for completion of each 25 hour weekly training and travel expenses.
What are Modern Apprenticeships?
The programme is available to people under 20 years of age.
As a Modern Apprentice, you could work as a North Ayrshire Council employee, helping deliver services to our 136,000 residents. At the same time you would undertake on, and off, the job training to develop your skills, knowledge and experience and work towards a level 2 or 3 Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ)/Modern Apprenticeship (MA).
Modern Apprenticeship wages depend on the trainee's age and progression through the programme. We have introduced National Minimum Wage hourly rates as follows:
- age 21 and over - £6.95
- age 18 to 20 - £5.55
- age 16 to 17 - £4.00
