Out of hours

For immediate advice when your GP or dental surgery is not open, call NHS 24 on 111. This is how you get an appointment with a doctor when your surgery is closed.

Minor injuries service

If you require urgent care for a minor injuries such as: cuts, sprains, minor burns
Arran Memorial Hospital: 01770 600777
University Hospital Crosshouse: 01563 521133 9.30am to 10pm, 7 days a week

Accident and Emergency

Only turn to 999 or accident and emergency departments for serious accidents or illness such as suspected stroke, heart attack, head injuries, fractures or wounds requiring stitches. University Hospital Crosshouse has a dedicated children's department, so if your child needs to be admitted they will be transferred from University Hospital Ayr.

Your doctor's surgery

Make an appointment to see your GP, or other healthcare professional if your illness or injury isn't going away. They can carry out an examination and provide advice and information about conditions such as: vomiting, earache, stomach pain, backaches. Please remember to keep your appointment!
