An action has been raised at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court by The North Ayrshire Council seeking to specify a date after which an area of ground at High Road, Stevenston shall be deemed to be a new burial ground and to authorise the Council to sell the exclusive right of burial in the burial ground either in perpetuity or for a limited period, the right of constructing any chapel, vault or place of burial in the burial ground and the right of erecting and placing any monument, gravestone, tablet or monumental inscription in the burial ground.

Should any person wish to defend the action or make any claim or seek any order or be heard on the application, he or she should appear within the Sheriff Courthouse at Kilmarnock on 15 June 2011 at 10am. A copy of the application and plan are available for inspection at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.
