Navigation
The content of the North Ayrshire site is divided into 11 main sections:
You can navigate to each of the main sections of the site by using the drop-down menu on the top left of the page - select a category and click the "Go" button:
Information related to the topic you are viewing is located in the "Related pages" menu boxes on the right of each page. However, if you want to find information quickly, we would recommend using the Search facility. We use Google technology to index and search our site. We have implemented a multiple search feature, where our content is split into smaller searchable sections. This will make the content you are interested in easier to find. These sections can be selected from a drop-down box on the search bar:
Once you have selected the type of content you are interested in, type a query into the search the site box at the top, then click the search button. Further information on the multiple search feature can be found on our search help page.
Please note that our Google search works on the North Ayrshire site only, not the web as a whole. If you want to search the entire web you can use Google on the web at www.google.com.
Local information such as council tax bands, bin collection days, local councillors, MSPs, MPs, MEPs, school catchments and building warrants can be found using the postcode search ("In My Area") on the homepage or by adding your postcode to our Online Mapping facility, LocalView.
In addition to the navigation menus and search facility, the dark brown menu bar across the top of each page contains other features to help you find what you want:
A-Z - an alphabetical list of all council services.
Contact Us - including telephone numbers, online services, complaints, suggestions and council buildings
Site map - shows the entire structure of the site in one page, arranged by section.
Council Information - information on Council Departments, Councillors, Committee Minutes, Reports and Agendas, Public Notices and the Community Planning Partnership
Maps - find out information about a particular property and the area surrounding, including maps, using a postcode search. If you require help with our on-line mapping (LocalView), you may find our also LocalView User Guide useful.

Our Customer services page contains information on our online services, contact details, service standards and performance.
PDF Documents
Many of the documents on the Council site are in Portable Document Format (PDF). PDF documents require a free down-loadable plug-in (Adobe Reader) in order to be viewed correctly. You can download the latest version of Adobe Reader from the Adobe website.
Translation into other languages
We have Polish, Urdu, Punjabi and Cantonese translations of our "Calling the Council" pages.
We recommend using Google translate for converting our other content into other languages. Google also provide a browser toolbar, which translates pages with one mouse click.
News feeds
We have created News feeds (RSS) of the latest Council news and other content, which you can subscribe to and read using the method of your choice.
