Any person or organisation who wishes to construct a new road or an extension of an existing road must obtain Construction Consent and Planning Consent from us. Please note that the granting of one does not necessarily imply the granting of the other. The works can only be undertaken while the Construction Consent (Form CC3) remains valid.
All design must be undertaken in accordance with our Roads Development Guidelines.
Completed application forms should be submitted to us at least three months before the start of construction.
Applicants should refer to the Roads Development Guide for guidance on the use of these forms and in particular Form 1, which indicates the minimum requirements for a construction consent application.
