Charging for Non-residential Social Care Services

An updated and revised version of the North Ayrshire Council Social Services Charging Policy was introduced on 1st April 2011. This revised Policy introduces updated charges for Older People's Services and introduces new charges for Adult Services.

Full implementation of the revised Policy will come into force on 1st June 2011.

From this date Social Services will be able to charge revised rates for non-residential Social Work Services and Housing Support Services.

The revised Charging Policy continues to support Social Services priority of developing and implementing a financial strategy that balances the need for an efficient use of resources with appropriate models of care for service users.

In introducing the revised Charging Policy, North Ayrshire Council Social Services will aim to ensure that it is:

  • Easy to understand, and that
  • Affordable charges are made for services, and that any
  • Charges that we set are applied fairly and collected efficiently.

The following documents will assist service providers, service users, carers and other interested groups to better understand the key features and processes of the policy.
