What is a Memory Café?
Memory Café is open to anyone who is affected by memory problems, dementia or is caring for someone with dementia.
You can drop in at any time during opening hours for a chat over a cup of tea or coffee. The whole family can come, unlike many day service activities, people with dementia and their carers can come to the café together. You may need social, emotional or practical support regarding your current situation and the staff on hand will be able to assist you and provide information and support.
There may be occasions where a formal speaker is invited to attend. This may include Welfare Rights Advisors, Pension Service Advisors and District Nurses etc or any advisor that you may think beneficial. These occasions will be publicised.
Our cafes are based throught North Ayrshire and you can attend any one.
Helter Skelter, Gallowgate Street, Largs, KA30 8LZ
Opening days and times - 1st and 3rd Monday of each month 1pm till 3pm
Vinburgh Community Centre, Quarry Road, Irvine, KA12 0PS
Opening days and times - 4th Friday of each month 11am till 12.30pm
St Cuthbert's Church, 13 Caledonia Road, Saltcoats, KA21 5AP
Opening days and times - 3rd Wednesday of each month 2.30pm till 4pm
Bridgend Community Centre, Stoneyholm Road, Kilbirnie, KA25 7DJ
Opening days and times - Every Tuesday 2pm till 4pm
The cafes will be closed on public holidays.
