Care and Repair Scheme

The Care and Repair project is for elderly or disabled owner/occupiers or private sector tenants who require repairs or improvements to their home. The service excludes decoration, gardening, fencing, slabbing etc. Clients are required to pay the cost of the materials only. A hardship fund will operate to pay for materials in limited cases. If you are unsure whether the small repairs service can assist, please telephone for advice.

Care and repair is aimed at providing help with repair and home improvements to elderly home-owners and private sector tenants over 75 years of age and over 60 years of age if disabled. The service can provide advice and practical assistance to enable you to remain living in your own home.

A Small Repairs Service is also available to assist with various repairs. The Mainland Scheme can assist with plumbing and electrical works. Arran Care & Repair Small Repairs Service operate a similar scheme to that on the mainland.

All grant applications are processed by North Ayrshire Care & Repair.
