Notification of Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers Regulations 1992
These Regulations require persons who have control of premises to notify the relevant Local Authority of any operative cooling towers or evaporative condensers, referred to as notifiable devices, on the premises.
Exceptions to this are where:

the device has no water which is exposed to the air;

where the water supply is not connected; and
-
where the electrical supply is not connected.
These exceptions do not apply when the plant is shut down for maintenance.
Download the cooling tower notification form and return it to Environmental Health at the contact address given. A list showing the cooling towers notifications made to North Ayrshire Council is also available. An acknowledgement letter will be sent out to you on receipt of your notification form.
