Qualifications Required
The path to qualify as an Environmental Health Officer is to do either a BSc (Hons) degree or MSc in Environmental Health. You must then complete a training placement for at least 48 weeks with a Local Authority and then pass a Professional Diploma exam. Once qualified you can work in a number of areas within Environmental Health including noise, public health, air quality, contaminated land, pest control, housing, food safety and health and safety.
Alternatively, you may also be able to work as an Enforcement Officer with a relevant degree and/or further professional qualifications.
