North Ayrshire's Young Musician announced
Siobhan Lennox from Garnock Academy has won the prestigious title of North Ayrshire Young Musician of the Year 2010. Representatives from North Ayrshire secondary schools competed in the competition held recently in the Harbour Arts Centre, Irvine.
Siobhan gave an outstanding flute recital of Concerto 1st mvt by Blavet and Sunstreams by Ian Clarke. Runners up were John Tilbury from Arran High School and Alan Stirling from Irvine Royal Academy.
The winner and runners up were presented with specially commissioned trophies by Councillor Ian Clarkson, Depute Provost.
The Young Musician competition is supported by The Rhona Reid Charitable Trust, which encourages young people to excel at music.
