Top marks for North Ayrshire exam students

Some 22 North Ayrshire pupils have swept the board by gaining top marks in their Higher exams this year.

The students from North Ayrshire's secondary schools were awarded 'A's in all five Higher results - the maximum number of Higher subjects a pupil can study in one school year. Last year, 21 pupils got 'A's in all five exams.

The pupils - two from Arran High School, two from Auchenharvie Academy, one from Greenwood Academy, eleven from Largs Academy and six from St Matthew's Academy – were celebrating their fabulous results this week.

A further three pupils - from Arran High School, Garnock Academy and Largs Academy - gained three 'A's at Advanced Higher level.

North Ayrshire Council's Corporate Director of Education and Skills, Carol Kirk, said: "All exam students – not least those who achieved top marks - should be congratulated on their achievements and the tremendous effort they have put in over the last academic year."
