Explosive finale to the 30th Largs Viking Festival
Celebrate the grand finale of the 30th Largs Viking Festival - the Party at the Pencil - this weekend (Saturday 4 September) from 7.30pm.
The Party at the Pencil kicks off with a re-enactment of the 1263 Battle of Largs, where fierce Scottish and Norse warriors will take you back in time as they battle on the shores.
Watch in amazement as the ceremonial burning of a Viking Longship sees the vessel set ablaze by a firebrand arrow.
The event culminates at 9pm with a spectacular fireworks display, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Pencil Monument on the Clyde Estuary.
Party at the Pencil, organised by North Ayrshire Council, is a free event for the whole family to enjoy.
