Local Planning Forums Start
North Ayrshire Council is hosting a number of local area Planning Forums throughout February – come and have a say in how your area will look over the next twenty years.
We are drafting up a new Local Development Plan (LDP), setting out which areas can be regenerated and which should be protected from development over the next two decades.
Starting on Wednesday 17th February, there will be a series of forums at which members of the public can discuss policy that sets out how North Ayrshire is developed.
The Local Development Plan aims to improve North Ayrshire by creating more jobs, providing an attractive place in which to live and work, and boosting tourism.
As part of the process, members of the public are being encouraged to give their opinions on a report of the main issues facing North Ayrshire.
The Main Issues Report (MIR), which sets the scene for the new LDP, outlines five key areas of change and sets out options to respond to them. This includes new housing, the future of our town centres and dealing with our vacant/derelict industrial land.
