Snap to it as 'see me' launches national photography competition
Ayrshire Anti-Stigma Group is calling on locals to get involved in a national photography competition launched by 'see me' – Scotland's campaign to end the stigma and discrimination around mental ill health.
The 'see me' Photography Competition 2010 sponsored by Semichem is open to everyone, and budding photographers and enthusiasts are being asked to enter captioned photos that illustrate their interpretation of this year's theme: Support.
One winner from each region will be entered into the national final where they will be in with a chance to win some great prizes and see their work displayed at a public exhibition.
Suzie Vestri, 'see me' Campaign Director, comments: "This year's theme, 'Support', can mean a range of different things to different people. Whether it's a helping hand, an encouraging smile or simply friends and family listening and offering advice, everyone needs support in order to keep positive and so we're asking the people of Ayrshire, what does the theme mean to you?"
Maggie Dhinsa, Chair of the Ayrshire Anti-Stigma Group comments: "The 'see me' photography competition is a great opportunity for local people to get creative. Whatever your age, experience or interpretation of the theme, we're looking forward to seeing your talent!"
The closing date for all entries is 17 September 2010. For more information on how you can enter, please go to www.seemescotland.org.
