North Ayrshire Council

Services A to Z:

Tell us what you think about future rent proposals

We are currently consulting local people on council housing rent proposals for the coming financial year.

A consultation document and interactive consultation survey are available for you to read and complete.

In June, the Council set up a working group made up of councillors, tenant representatives and Council officers to oversee the development of a new 30-year business plan, which aims to see the creation of 500 new Council houses.

This plan explains where we want to be as a Council housing service, the proposals for getting there over the next five years and the investment required.

We aim to deliver the following: £300 million of improvements to Council housing over the next 10 years Compliance with the Scottish Housing Quality Standard by 2015.

The development of 500 new Council houses and up to 50 apprenticeships. Significant investment of more than £4 million in our sheltered housing complexes over the next five years to ensure it meets the future needs of older people.

North Ayrshire Council is trying to strike the right balance to make sure that the rent you pay is affordable, meets tenants' aspirations and represents good value for money.
