Christmas Message 2009 from Provost Robert Rae
As Provost of North Ayrshire Council I want to wish you all the best for the Christmas Season.
It is a privilege to serve as Provost and represent North Ayrshire at so many memorable events and occasions throughout the year. Carrying out my duties brings me into contact with a wide range of individuals and organisations in North Ayrshire. I continue to be hugely impressed with the efforts of so many to make a positive contribution to their communities. We are indeed very fortunate in North Ayrshire to have the rich tapestry of community groups that make up the fabric of community life.
It is this spirit which I think will help us meet the challenges which lie ahead. In common with the rest of the country we have had our own share of difficulties to deal with. The Council will continue to endeavour to protect the most vulnerable in our communities. It is in difficult times that we must pull together and do our best for the greater good. Let each of us do what we can.
Christmas is a time for getting together with family and friends. On behalf of the Council, my best wishes to you for a merry Christmas and health and happiness in the New Year.
