Nominate your local heroes for a North Ayrshire Civic Pride Award
Community champions who enrich the lives of others will again be recognised at the second North Ayrshire Provost's Civic Pride Awards and Charity Dinner on Friday, 23 March.
Hosted by Provost of North Ayrshire Council, Pat McPhee, the 2012 Awards will celebrate the area's greatest asset – its people – by recognising the significant effort of local groups and individuals.
Following on from the success of the 2011 event, next year's Provost's Civic Pride Awards will pay tribute to the outstanding talent, skills and success of local citizens.
The Awards and Charity Dinner will show appreciation for the area's community, sports and arts champions whilst also raising money for charities which provide support for people across North Ayrshire.
The much-sought-after Civic Pride Awards will be presented at a Charity Dinner on Friday, 23 March. The Awards will be handed out in recognition of the selfless contributions made by citizens who have promoted or demonstrated civic pride in their own communities.
The Provost has invited a wide range of North Ayrshire businesses and organisations to demonstrate their civic pride by booking a table at the charity dinner.
Businesses have also been offered the chance to donate a prize and/or sponsor an award category ahead of the event to be held at Seamill Hydro.
And local people are urged to help recognise the efforts of committed community groups and outstanding individuals by nominating them for one of the five awards.
Two charities will benefit from the event - Cash for Kids and Hollybush House – both of which support people across North Ayrshire. Cash for Kids supports vulnerable youngsters and their families while Hollybush House is an Ayrshire residential and treatment centre for veterans run by Combat Stress.
Provost Pat McPhee said: "The Civic Pride Awards showcase North Ayrshire's greatest asset – its people – and will, once again, pay tribute to the hard-working and dedicated groups and individuals who make life richer for the people of North Ayrshire.
"Earlier this year, local groups, individuals and businesses were lining up to support the inaugural North Ayrshire Civic Pride Awards and Charity Dinner. We hope even more people will step forward and demonstrate their civic pride in 2012."

-
Local businesses will be able to show their support by taking a table, sponsoring an award or by donating a prize
