Irvine Beat FM returns for 2011
Irvine Beat FM – supported by North Ayrshire Council – hits the airwaves throughout August.
The community radio station, which runs throughout the Marymass Festival, began broadcasting in 2009 and has proved a major success.
The station brings local people a great mix of music, chat, local news and up-to-the-minute details on the Marymass Festival.
Run by volunteers, the station has gone from strength to strength since its launch. Irvine Beat FM now hopes to build upon its success by securing a five year licence – allowing it to broadcast 365-days a year.
The Council has supported the station, through assistance from the Community Learning and Development service and with grant funding.
Broadcasting began on August 1 and last for four weeks. Just tune in to 105.7FM if you are in the Irvine area or visit this website if you want to listen from further afield.
