The North Ayrshire Housing Register (NAHR) is launching Scotland's first online common housing register housing application form.
For the first time, local people will be able to apply for a house with North Ayrshire's four biggest social housing landlords simply by logging onto the Council's website.
North Ayrshire Council works in conjunction with Cunninghame Housing Association, Irvine Housing Association and ANCHO to provide a common housing register. This means local people fill in one housing application form which is then considered by all four providers.
Although this service is widely available south of the border, NAHR is the first common housing register in Scotland to launch an online form.
All applications submitted online will automatically be uploaded to the register before being processed by housing staff.
This does not mean that the traditional methods of applying for housing will no longer exist. Application packs are still available from local housing offices or can be downloaded from the Council's website.
