Energy Saving Week
North Ayrshire Council is holding a week of events to coincide with Energy Saving Week which starts on Monday, October 25.
With winter fast approaching it is more important than ever to save energy so the Council and its partners have organised a series of events to ensure that you are more in control of your energy costs this winter.
Visit Ardeer Neighbourhood Centre in Stevenston on Monday, October 25 and you will find out more about the Scottish Government's Universal Home Insulation Scheme which aims to help the town's residents save energy and money. Locals will also be able to learn about the Energy Assistance Package which can help with energy costs from 11am until 1pm. Advice is free and completely confidential.
North Ayrshire Council's Trading Standards Advice Centre in Bridgegate, Irvine, will host three further events during the rest of the week.
From 11am to 2pm on Tuesday, October 26, find out how LESS can help you get free or discounted energy saving measures in your home. The scheme is operated in partnership with Solas, a not-for-profit agency.
On Thursday, October 28, residents can pop into the Bridgegate centre to have a chat with energy experts from the Energy Saving Advice Centre. They can provide information on how to save energy and money as well as advice on those who have fallen behind on energy bill payments.
You can also pick up a free TV power down switch to help you start saving money immediately.
And on Friday, October 29, you can ask staff at the Advice Centre about finding the best energy deals on-line – possibly saving hundreds of pounds a year in the process. Staff can also produce a personalised price comparison sheet showing all the energy suppliers and their costs.
Even if you can't visit the centre on the day you can call 01294 324917 and we will post it out the comparison sheet to you.
North Ayrshire Council is committed to ensuring residents are fully informed when it comes to energy costs. Call 01294 324917 for our free energy information pack which is available at all Libraries or by post (to order 01294 324917).
