Caravan Site Licence for North Ayrshire
North Ayrshire Council has a duty to issue caravan site licences to all caravan sites with North Ayrshire providing that the applicant has valid planning permission. North Ayrshire Council encourages good standards at our caravan sites for the pleasure and enjoyment of our community as well as tourists who visit the area.
The use of the land as a caravan site requires a Caravan Site Licence and the Council attach conditions to the licence. If site licence conditions are not being met the Council is able to take enforcement action. Reasonable time scales will be allowed for each contravention to be put right.
Site Licence conditions are designed to protect the health, safety and welfare of caravan occupants and covers such issues as drainage, distances between caravans and so on.
To run a caravan site you need a licence for North Ayrshire Council.

The applicant must be entitled to use the land as a caravan site.

On receipt of the completed documents, the application will be circulated to a number of consultees and some of the consultees will carry out an inspection of the site It will also be advertised on the Council's website to allow for members of the public to lodge any objections or representations to the issue of the licence.
If there are no objections, the licence will be issued for a period of 3 years from the date of issue.

There is no fee for a Caravan Site licence.
