Applying for a Job at North Ayrshire Council

We aim to select the most suitable person for each post on the basis of their relevant skills, knowledge, qualifications and competence.  We are an equal opportunities employer and make sure no applicant is unfairly treated on any grounds.

 

Using Role Profiles, Application Forms and Interviews, you'll be expected to provide evidence of how your skills, knowledge, qualifications and competence meet the requirements of the post:

Role Profile

  • Gives a general overview of the post along with the skills, knowledge, qualifications and competency requirements.
  • Shows what applicants need to have (the essential criteria) and what would be good to have (the desirable criteria).
  • The Role Profile will also advise the competency requirements of the post.
  • Shows what the recruitment panel will use to shortlist and shows where they will gather the evidence of the applicant's competence.

Successful Applicants

  • Successful applicants will initially be advised that they are the 'Preferred Candidate'.  North Ayrshire Council will not make any formal job offers until a number of pre-employment checks are undertaken.
