Recycling containers
We provide containers for door-to-door collection of household waste for recycling.
There is a weekly collection but a different bin should be put out each week. Waste needs to be separated into items that can be recycled (blue bin) and items for domestic waste (grey bin).
Glass items are collected monthly (black box).
Blue bin
The following items can be put in your blue bin for recycling:
-
Cans - Aluminium and steel food and drinks cans
-
Aluminium foil and trays

Paper - Newspapers, magazines, junk mail, office and computer paper, telephone directories, envelopes

-
Plastic bottles (bottle tops go in grey bin) - Containers for milk, soft drinks, cooking oil, shampoo, washing-up liquid
Please do not include:

Plastic food containers
You should empty and rinse containers and flatten cans, cardboard boxes and plastic bottles.
Black box
We issue a black box for recycling glass.
Glass containers for food, pharmaceutical and household items such as jam jars and wine bottles are recyclable.
Avoid contamination when recycling glass bottles and jars by ensuring you do not include:
-
Glass saucepans or "Pyrex" cookware
-
Crystal glass, drinking glasses or ashtrays
-
Plate or mirror glass
-
Laboratory glass or light bulbs
