Care and Repair Scheme

The Care and Repair project is for elderly or disabled owner/occupiers or private sector tenants who require repairs or improvements to their home. The service excludes decoration, gardening, fencing, slabbing etc. Clients are required to pay the cost of the materials only. A hardship fund will operate to pay for materials in limited cases. If you are unsure whether the small repairs service can assist, please telephone for advice.

 

Care and repair is aimed at providing help with repair and home improvements to elderly homeowners and private sector tenants over 75 years of age and over 60 years of age if disabled. The service can provide advice and practical assistance to enable you to remain living in your own home.

Care & Repair considers a wide range of issues such as property repairs, health, income and safety, which all impact upon an elderly persons well being and quality of life.

 

A Small Repairs Service is also available to assist with various repairs. This services can assist with small tasks including electrical, joinery, roofing and plumbing tasks can, in many cases, be carried out free of charge.

 

Following an initial enquiry to Care & Repair a member of staff will visit you to discuss your enquiry and offer advice and assistance accordingly.
