Summer Playschemes
Playschemes are provided by a number of organisations across North Ayrshire during the school summer holidays. Playschemes are all run to suit local circumstances with some operating for one week only and others every week. A small amount of funding is available to support the playschemes. Children's Outreach Services administers the Playscheme Grants on behalf of North Ayrshire Council.

Bookbug in North Ayrshire sessions consist of a combination of songs, rhymes, stories and play and are provided in 14 of the 17 libraries. The Bookbug sessions are for children aged 0-5 years who are accompanied by their parent or carer. The sessions are very informal, fun and completely free of charge.
Bookbug is part of Scottish Book Trust, the leading agency for the promotion of literature, reading and writing in Scotland, and aims to encourage parents and children to share and enjoy books together.
