Proxy Voting
Individual voters who cannot or are unable to attend the polling station to cast their vote on election day can choose to nominate another person to attend the polling station and vote on their behalf. Voters can also choose to appoint postal proxies i.e people who may vote by post on their behalf.
The proxies must be eligible to vote in the election themselves in order to act on behalf of another person, and only certain categories of people may vote on behalf of an individual.
All enquiries about the appointment of proxies should be directed to the Electoral Registration Officer at Ayrshire Valuation Joint Board.
