The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 and the Data Protection Act 1998
You have a right to request access to information that the Council holds under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 and the Data Protection Act 1998.
The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 gives you rights to request access to information held by the Council. Requests made under Freedom of Information normally relate to the work of the Council, the decisions it makes and the services it provides.
Requests for environmental information are usually managed under the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004.
The Data Protection Act 1998 gives you a right to access information which is held about you.
