Paying By Payment Card
If you have chosen to pay your Council Tax by payment card this will have been issued to you with you name and Council Tax reference number on the front of the card. Your payment card will last for several years and does not need to be replaced each year. You can't use your card to pay at your bank or building society but you can set up a direct debit. Your card can be used at any, Council Office, Post Office, Paypoint or Payzone outlet to make payment. Many of the Paypoint and Payzone outlets are shops and garages which are open late in the evening and at the weekend making it easier to pay. There is no limit to the amount you can pay using your payment card at a Council Office or the Post Office, however, you can only pay a maximum of £125.00 per transaction for Council Tax at a Paypoint or Payzone outlet. If you need to pay more than this the cashier will split the amount and swipe your card for each payment.
