Organising your renewal of vows ceremony
Why Renew Your Vows?
Couples may wish to reaffirm their commitment to each other. You can have a personal ceremony and invite and involve your children, family and friends. You may decide to have a ceremony to celebrate
-
a particular anniversary.
-
a previous civil partnership registration.
-
a marriage abroad where you wish to have another ceremony.
Viewing the civil ceremony rooms
You can view any of our ceremony rooms before you book your ceremony.
Please contact staff at any of our local registration offices . If you plan to have your ceremony in a hotel or any other venue then contact the staff at your chosen location.
Arranging the date and time
Try to make early arrangements for the date and time of the ceremony. This is particularly important at some of the more popular locations. Large numbers of people might want to book their ceremony at certain times of the year.
Documents required
A marriage or civil partnership certificate must be produced as evidence that couples have gone through a legal ceremony. The ceremony content must refer to the fact that it is a "renewal" ceremony.
Availability
Ceremonies are conducted every day of the year except 25th, 26th December and 1st, 2nd January. Morning, afternoon and early evening appointments are available.
Fees
All renewal of vows ceremonies are subject to a non-refundable booking fee of £55. This is not an additional charge and will be deducted from the final account. Fees are reviewed on an annual basis by North Ayrshire Council. Current fees are shown below.
