Financial Assistance for Students with Disabilities

The Scottish Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS)  provides support for students who live in Scotland or are studying in Scotland.

Support may be available if you are studying for a higher education course such as a Higher National Diploma or a degree.

 

If you have a disability or learning difficulty, you may claim for certain extra expenses which arise because you are on a course.

What happens if I or my family have not used a lair that we have bought?
After 100 years, if the lair has not been used or transferred to any other family member, the Council can terminate the Exclusive Right of Burial after appropriate checks and measures have been carried out.

What benefits can I get for my child to assist them attend school?
You may be eligible for an education maintenance allowance, free school meals, free school transport, disabled student allowance, a school clothing allowance and, for students who wish to stay on for 6th year at secondary school, there is also access grant funding available.
