The Arran Outdoor Education Centre and Cloudbase
The first thing you can expect when visiting our centre is a warm welcome and a friendly smile.
Our centre is large, contemporary and purpose built for outdoor education. We have the main centre in Lamlash and our mountain encampment outside Whiting Bay called Cloudbase.
Our main centre has:

40 beds all en-suite,

a state of the art classroom equipped with all the latest technologies,

a dining room where you can sit down to delicious home cooked meals,

a library which gives a quite place for reflection with stunning views of Holy Isle and

a comfortable students lounge.
We have dedicated changing, drying and storage areas, first class disabled facilities such as hoists, disabled showers and all terrain wheelchairs. Together with a full range of specialist equipment and clothing your.

Cloud Base
Cloud Base is a magical place where you discover new experiences. Located high in remote forest, it's reminiscent of a camp in the Canadian Rockies. It has 5 timber cabins. The nearest village, Whiting Bay, is over an hour away.
An expedition to Cloud Base gives you a unique wilderness adventure. With everyone enjoying the camaraderie of camp life in a remote location.
It is an eco camp powered by a small wind turbine and solar panels.
With no light pollution it often sits under a canopy of stars and when there's a full moon you don't even have to use torch.
No one can fail to be impressed by the sight of this extraordinary place.
