A to Z of Services:
Our Sailing School is based in the beautiful anchorage of Lamlash Bay and takes the form of Keelboat Sailing in our Hawk 20's; 'Pole Star' and 'Southern Cross' and Dinghy Sailing in the 3 Wayfarer Dinghies; Arran, Ailsa and Pladda.

The Resource provides Instruction in Sailing using the RYA principles of teaching. It is our intention to have the student sailor in control of the boat after only a few basic instructions.

We are fortunate to sail in a beautiful location and we often teach whilst we cruise around the Bay visiting the Holy Isle, Kings Cross, and the Yachts at anchor near the village of Lamlash.

Equipment

The Resource now uses the beautiful Hawk 20 day boat for the introduction of beginners to the sport of sailing. It is a stable and extremely safe platform for the beginner to learn the basics. The Hawk also sports a spinnaker and has an auxiliary engine which means it is an ideal craft for all the requirements of the Arran Outdoor Education Resource.

The Hawk 20's 'Pole Star' and 'Southern Cross' allow the exploration of Lamlash Bay by sail for all ages and abilities.

Our MKII Wayfarer Dinghies are in excellent condition, the oldest is 4 years old, all with fitted out with slab reefing and sail - head buoyancy - they are specially set up for our requirements.

Safety
All our sailors are equipped with wet/dry suits, BSI 3595 Lifejackets, Waterproofs or Sailing Suits
