RECOMMENDATION FOR PLANNING APPLICATION REF NO 08/00140/PP

Refuse on the following grounds:-

1. That the proposed development would be contrary to the Development Control Statement of the Adopted Isle of Arran Local Plan in that, by reason of its scale, siting, design and external appearance, the proposed extension would represent an incongruous addition to the existing building which would be detrimental to the appearance of the building and visual amenity.

2. That the proposed development, by reason of its siting and scale, would significantly reduce the gap between the existing shore front buildings to the detriment of the amenity of neighbouring residential properties, which would be contrary to the aims of the approved Brodick Design Framework.
