  • Redistribution of bus stop use, with services only stopping once in the town centre.
  • Relocation of bus stops and disabled parking places within pedestrian area.
  • Bank Street, between Irvine Cross and East Road, to operate as a two-way road but with access from East Road restricted to taxis and buses.
  • The taxi rank in Bank Street to be relocated on the opposite side of the road, facing towards the Cross.
  • Traffic signals at Irvine Cross and East Road/Bank Street to be upgraded for altered traffic circulation.
  • Taxis to be allowed to travel through pedestrian priority zone from Irvine Cross northwards.
  • Restrictions on access for vehicles other than buses and taxis to be extended to High Street (between Irvine Cross and Kirkgate) and Bank Street (between Irvine Cross and East Road).
