IRVINE, 17 October 2001 – At a Meeting of the Corporate Services (Conditions of Service) Sub Committee of North Ayrshire Council at 2.00 p.m.

1. Exclusion of the Public

The Sub-Committee resolved in terms of Section 50(A)4 of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973, to exclude from the Meeting the press and the public for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 1 and 6 of Part I of Schedule 7A of the Act.

2. COSLA - Sounding Board - JNC for Chief Officials

Submitted report by the Assistant Chief Executive (Personnel) on the Employers side recommendations on Chief Executives' salaries and annual cost of living increases for Chief Officials.

Local Authorities have been consulted by COSLA on the recommendations within the report by Sir Neil McIntosh on the review of Chief Executives' salaries. Thereafter the Employers side will table responses at the JNC meeting for Chief Officials on 25 October 2001 in relation to Chief Executives' salaries and cost of living pay increases for Chief Officials.

The Sub-Committee agreed to approve the recommendations as detailed in the report.

The meeting ended at 2.40 p.m.
