North Ayrshire Council

You are requested to attend a special Meeting of North Ayrshire Council to be held in the Council Chambers, Cunninghame House, Irvine on THURSDAY 14 FEBRUARY 2002 at 2.00 p.m. to consider the undernoted business.
1. Motions

In terms of Standing Order No. 14, submit Motion by Councillor Hill and seconded by Councillor Rae in the following terms: -

"The North Ayrshire Council welcomes the additional Special Islands Needs Allowance funding received from the Scottish Executive.

In recognition of the receipt of this new money, the North Ayrshire Council resolves to establish a Challenge Fund for the islands with a budget for the forthcoming financial year of £250,000. The Challenge Fund will be used in order to improve service provision on the islands and will also support community initiatives originating from within the island communities.

The Challenge Fund will be monitored throughout the course of the year, in order that an evaluation of its success may be prepared and reported on to the full Council in February 2003, at which stage a decision will be taken as to its future."

Submit Minutes of the Special Meeting of the Corporate Policy Committee held on 5 February 2002 (copy enclosed).


3. Revenue Estimates 2002/03 and 2003/04 and Determination of Council Tax Levels 2002/03 and 2003/04

Submit report by the Assistant Chief Executive (Finance) on the Council's spending needs for 2002/03, the Council Tax levels required to finance this expenditure and to set an indicative level for 2003/04 (copy enclosed).
