  Corporate Procurement Policy

The Corporate Procurement Unit was created to develop and implement a North Ayrshire Council-wide Procurement Strategy.

North Ayrshire Council spends approximately £160 million annually externally on Goods, Works and Services in support of North Ayrshire Council operations. The Corporate Procurement Unit (CPU) works together with the Service Groups to report and manage this spend and ensure Best Value in purchase decisions.

Recent developments in Public Procurement such as the EU Legislation being formally adopted in Scotland, and the publication of the Report by John McClelland also have implications for North Ayrshire Council.

To support new requirements and improvements in purchasing, The Procurement Strategy was developed by the CPU and approved by the Corporate Policy Committee on 9th May 2006.
