North Ayrshire Community Planning Partnership

North Ayrshire Community Planning Partnership (CPP) is working together for "A Better Life" for communities in North Ayrshire.

The Partnership is led by North Ayrshire Council, Jobcentre Plus, NHS Ayrshire and Arran, Scottish Enterprise, Skills Development Scotland, Strathclyde Fire and Rescue, Strathclyde Partnership for Transport, Irvine Bay Urban Regeneration Company, the Third Sector Interface and Strathclyde Police.  The Partnership is supported by a range of other public, community and voluntary organisations.

Community planning is about working together to plan and deliver better services.

For 2011-12 North Ayrshire CPP have identified three priority areas of work:

  • Tackling Worklessness
  • Tackling Health Inequalities
  • Tackling Community Safety

These are reflected in our 2011-12 SOA Action Plan.

The CPP promote the use of North Ayrshire 4 Funding pages which provide searchable funding opportunities for charities, community groups, businesses and social enterprises.

What is Community Planning?
In Scotland the Local Government in Scotland Act 2003 places duties on local authorities to initiate, facilitate and maintain Community Planning. Local authorities have a duty to develop a comprehensive Community Plan along with relevant stakeholders (including Police, Enterprise Company, Health Boards and Fire Service) to promote or improve the social, economic and environmental well-being of their areas and contribute to the achievement of sustainable development in Scotland.
