Pre-Application Consultation
Following the changes in Planning legislation developments will be categorised into 3 groupings:-
New requirements for Developers have been introduced by the Scottish Government where consultation must be undertaken with local communities before they submit a planning application to North Ayrshire Council.
This applies to National and Major planning applications.
Applications are checked to see if they are either National or Major. If the application falls into one of the categories they must submit a Proposal of application notice to North Ayrshire Council and Community Councils so an opportunity to comment on such proposals can be made before an application is submitted.
All applications for National or Major developments submitted must comply with the Pre-Application Consultation process.
It is important to note that this pre-application consultation is the responsibility of the applicants and feedback and comments at this stage should be made to the applicants. North Ayrshire Council cannot accept representations or objections to a proposal at this stage.
